Stein Hospice Care Center

Room Plaques
Stein Hospice has numerous permanent naming opportunities to celebrate the life of a loved one.  These gifts enable Stein Hospice to continue to provide the highest quality of hospice care to our patients for generations to come. In 2005 Stein Hospice opened the Care Center at the South Campus of Firelands Regional Medical Center.  The Care Center is designed to meet the end of life needs of the residents of our service area. Plaques for patient rooms at the Care Center may be purchased in memory or honor of someone.  For more information contact the Development Department, 419-625-5269, development@steinhospice.org.

Living Tree
The Living Tree is a permanent art piece located in the main hallway of the Stein Hospice Care Center. By purchasing a Living Tree leaf you memorialize or honor a loved one and support the continued growth and development of the Stein Hospice Care Center. The cost of a leaf is $500. The Memory Garden
The Memory Garden is a gift from the Sam Stein Family to the communities that Stein Hospice serves and is located in front of Stein’s office at 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky. For those individuals who would like to have a dedication made in the garden, there are several options. Walkway pavers 3x7 with two lines of text are $50. Walkway pavers 7x7 with four lines of text are $75. The special memorials will be engraved and placed in the garden.

Light Up A Life
Light Up A Life is an annual event celebrated during the holiday season to remember loved ones who have passed away, to honor those still living or in celebration of a kind act, a good deed, an anniversary or a birthday and can serve as a symbol of hopefulness. Your tax deductible gift from this event supports Stein Hospice’s mission of providing quality and compassionate end-of-life care and bereavement services for the terminally ill children, adults and their families in our community regardless of their ability to pay.

Place a light on the Light Up A Life Tree by making a contribution of $15 or more to Stein Hospice. At your request we will send a holiday acknowledgement of your gift to the person and/or families of those you wish to remember along with an invitation to the lighting ceremony. This year the Light Up A Life Tree will be lit on Dec. 5, 2010, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Norwalk and on Dec. 12, 2010, at First Presbyterian Church, Washington Park, downtown Sandusky. Gifts may be made to Light Up A Life throughout the year.

Emily’s Library
Emily Wadsworth A library in memory of Stein Hospice nurse Emily Wadsworth is open to patients and families at the Stein Hospice Care Center. Emily joined Stein Hospice in September 2009 and worked at the care center until she became a patient. Emily died April 8, 2010. One of her wishes was to establish a library for education, reflection and healing. Monetary donations can be made to Emily’s Library.

Matching Gifts
Many employers will match the gifts their employees or retirees make to Stein Hospice, further enhancing the impact of their contribution.  Most of these programs match contributions dollar for dollar, and some will even double or triple the amount of your gift.  To find your employer’s matching gift policy and process, please contact your human resources department or visit the web site, www.matchinggifts.com.  If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form, complete and sign it, and send it along with your gift and we will do the rest. For more information contact the Development Department, 419-625-5269, development@steinhospice.org.

Sponsorship
Throughout the year Stein Hospice presents a variety of events that help support our mission of caring for patients and families during life’s final journey. Events include two golf outings, a 5K race/walk and a sailing regatta. Sponsorship levels start at $100 and, depending on the level of giving, is acknowledged in print materials and on banners and billboards. Bequests
Any amount you leave to a charitable organization will reduce the size of your taxable estate while helping a good cause. A bequest may be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of an estate or a specific asset. Regardless of the size of your estate, a bequest can be made to a charity of your choosing. In-Kind Gifts
